Refund and Liability Policy

Last updated: June 20, 2026

1. Pay-per-document purchases

Single-document purchases ($19.99 per generated PDF) are non-refundable once the document has been generated and made available for download, because compute, AI-inference, and citation-checking costs are incurred at the moment of generation. If the Service fails to generate or deliver a paid document due to a technical fault on our end, we will either (a) regenerate the document at no additional cost, or (b) issue a full refund of that purchase upon request.

2. Subscriptions

  • Monthly plans may be cancelled at any time and will not renew at the next billing cycle. Monthly fees already charged are non-refundable.
  • Annual plans are eligible for a pro-rated refund within the first 14 days of the initial subscription term if you have generated fewer than 5 documents. After that period, annual fees are non-refundable.
  • Renewals are charged automatically. We send a renewal reminder at least 7 days before each annual renewal. Refunds will not be issued for renewals you forgot to cancel.
  • Monthly allowances do not roll over. Each plan's monthly document, analysis, research, and translation allowances reset on the first day of each calendar month (UTC). Any unused portion of a monthly allowance is forfeited at month-end and is not refundable, transferable, or credited toward a future cycle, whether or not the subscription is cancelled or downgraded during the cycle.

3. How to request a refund

Submit refund requests through our contact form with your account email, the transaction date, and a brief description of the issue. We respond to refund requests within 5 business days. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method and typically post within 5–10 business days.

4. Chargebacks

Please contact us before initiating a chargeback with your card issuer. Chargebacks filed without first attempting resolution may result in immediate account suspension and recovery of any disputed amounts plus processor fees.

5. Liability for document use

Motion To File generates working drafts. The decision to file, execute, serve, or otherwise rely on any document produced by the Service is solely yours (or solely the responsibility of the licensed attorney you retain). MTF is not responsible for, and disclaims all liability arising from:

  • Adverse litigation outcomes, including loss of motions, dismissals, sanctions, or adverse judgments.
  • Professional discipline, bar complaints, or malpractice claims against you or your firm.
  • Missed deadlines, statute-of-limitations failures, or procedural defaults.
  • Incorrect, outdated, or hallucinated citations or legal authority appearing in any Output.
  • Errors in formatting, local-rule compliance, signature blocks, captions, or service certificates.
  • Use of any Output by a person who is not a licensed attorney admitted in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Reliance on Outputs in jurisdictions, courts, or proceedings for which the Service does not claim coverage.

6. Limitation of liability

Without limiting any other limitation in our Terms and Conditions, the aggregate liability of Alpha-Omega Industries, LLC (d/b/a Motion To File) arising out of or related to the Service — including this Policy — shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid to MTF in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100.00). MTF shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages of any kind.

7. Statutory rights

Nothing in this Policy limits any rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law that cannot be lawfully waived or limited.
